The "Resort of Fruits"

History:

The Resort of Fruits is a property that contains a collection of more than 2.000 diverse fruit trees located in the state of S√£o Paulo.

The story began years ago. In today's property called Resort of Fruits (or "Est√Ęncia das Frutas" in Portuguese), an inattentive truck driver downed a tangerine tree. Decided to replace the loss, the physician Dr. Sergio F. Sartori was led to one of the main centers specialized in fruits of the country, the Sylvio Moreira‚Äôs Citrus Center in Cordeir√≥polis, SP.

Unsuccessful in his search he continued touring for several other specialized centers such as IAC (Campinas Agronomic Institute in English), where he could found more than 800 different varieties of oranges, but not all eatable. By curiosity, pleasure or even the hope of one might be the tangerine tree, in a very short time he came to have a flashy citrus orchard.

But it was far from these centers that he found the tasty tangerine. One day walking along the course of  the Ribeir√£o Claro river in property, Dr. Sergio F. Sartori came across surprised with the tangerine tree! "A gift of nature", says Sergio, "I tried by various specialized centers and it is right here that I could find it." He picked up some seedlings and named it the name "Tangerina Est√Ęncia".

But from that day the curiosity for new fruits has become routine for this doctor in love for fruitculture, making this paradise the largest collection of fruit trees (orchard) that someone might have seen.
